The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) closes the curtains of the Bicara dan Perkongsian Program tour series for the Sabah Zone in Sandakan as part of the preparation towards the National Workers’ Day Celebration on 1st May 2026.
The program becomes a strategic engagement platform that brings together employees, employers, and labor unions to discuss labor issues and constructive improvement proposals.

The closing ceremony was officiated by YBrs. Encik Sutekno Bin Ahmad Belon, Deputy Secretary-General (Operations) of KESUMA who also expressed his condolences to the victims of the fire in Kampung Bahagia, Sandakan.

Under the Malaysian aspiration of MADANI, the labour market remains strong with 17.3 million labour forces and a low unemployment rate of 2.9%. KESUMA continues to strengthen reforms including the Gig Workers Act 2025, Minimum Wage Review and strengthening of AKF and MYFutureJobs.

The culmination of the celebration will take place on May 1st 2026 at Unifi Arena, Bukit Jalil as a symbol of appreciation to workers, in line with the core of Welfare, Justice and Charity.
