Putrajaya, 4 November 2024 – Today was the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Trade Union Movement Solidarity Exhibition in Malaysia which was officiated by YBhg. Datuk Azman Bin Mohd Yusof, Secretary General of the Ministry of Human Resources. The ceremony was held at the KESUMA Multi-Purpose Hall with the meaningful theme, ‘WORK UNION DRIVES A CIVILIZED MALAYSIA’. This program aims to strengthen the spirit of solidarity among trade unions throughout the country, in addition to raising awareness of the important role of unions in fighting for the rights and welfare of workers in Malaysia.
The theme of this year’s exhibition, ‘UNION DRIVES A CIVIL MALAYSIA’, is a call to all to unite in order to strengthen the trade union movement in Malaysia. This theme emphasizes the importance of unity and solidarity in achieving a brighter and fairer future for every worker in our country. This exhibition not only appreciates the glorious history of trade unions but also serves as a platform to recall the struggle of previous workers, who remained steadfast in defending workers’ rights.
Their struggle is an inspiration to all of us today. Through tireless and dedicated efforts, the rights of workers in this country have been successfully defended and empowered, reflecting the common ambition towards a more inclusive and fair Malaysia.
