MELAKA, 30 May 2025 – The Department of Trade Union Affairs (JHEKS) has organized the Electronic Trade Union Information System (e-TUIS) State Champion Series I & II Training of Trainers (TOT) Workshop held at the AMES Hotel, Melaka.
This workshop involved the participation of 12 JHEKS officers and administrative assistants from all over the country. The workshop was also assisted by seven representatives from the system supplier who acted as assistant facilitators and technical speakers led by Ms. Azrin binti Zulkeply.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Tuan Haji Mohd Asri bin Abdul Wahab, Director General of the Malaysian Trades Union. In his opening speech, he expressed the hope that JHEKS officers could play a strategic role in assisting trade unions to transition to digital application methods through the e-TUIS platform in line with current needs and aspirations for the digitalization of public services.
According to him, the implementation of workshops like this needs to continue in a structured and phased manner to ensure that all trade unions take full advantage of the e-TUIS system in managing union affairs more efficiently, transparently and with integrity.

This workshop not only aims to improve the technical skills of officers, but also functions as a knowledge transfer platform to produce e-TUIS reference officers (champions) at the state level, thus strengthening JHEKS’s internal capabilities in supporting the digital transformation of trade union management in Malaysia.
