The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) continues its commitment to strengthen the country’s labour ecosystem through the Working Visit of YB Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan, Minister of Human Resources along with YB Datuk Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, Deputy Minister of Human Resources to the three core agencies of the ministry namely Labor Union Affairs Department (JHEKS), Occupational Safety and Health Department (JKKP) and the Corporate Relations Department Malaysia (JPPM) today. The working visit aims to provide comprehensive exposure to the ministry’s new leadership to the role, functions as well as operational priorities of each department in supporting the labour reform agenda and protection of the country’s workers.
Throughout the visit, the Honourable Minister and the Honourable Deputy Minister received an introduction briefing from the top management of each department covering the strategic direction, current achievements, policy implementation challenges as well as planning for the improvement of the service delivery system to the people. The main focus of the visit was strengthening the coordination of ministry policies and implementation at the departmental level, particularly in the aspects of corporate relations, occupational safety and health as well as the development of a progressive and responsible labor union. This initiative is in line with MADANI Malaysia’s aspirations which emphasizes the core of Good Governance, Welfare, Empowerment and Charity, to ensure that every employee is protected, employers are empowered and industry relationships remain harmonious for the sake of the country’s economic prosperity.
