Kota Kinabalu, 6 May 2024 – The Deputy Minister of Human Resources, Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad recently attended the Program Hal Ehwal Kesatuan Sekerja (PHEKS) 2024 Opening Ceremony in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) through the Trade Union Affairs Department (JHEKS) as the Department responsible for regulating registered trade unions has been assigned to coordinate the implementation of initiatives and the distribution of financial allocations to trade unions in Malaysia to carry out trade union related activities.
This year KESUMA through JHEKS has also allocated RM3.2 million specifically for trade unions in Malaysia.
The objective of PHEKS is to support and strengthen the trade union movement through financial assistance, creating an educational platform to improve the leadership skills of union members through continuous learning.
There are Six (6) clusters that have been offered to trade unions this year, namely:
- Training and Education Programs
- A Study of the Trade Union Movement
- Scientific Writing on Labor Issues related to Trade Unions
- Purchase of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Equipment
- Development of E-Learning Modules in the Form of Simulation Videos
- First Time Purchase of Group Insurance To Eligible Members.
