University Lecturer Service Scheme officers from Grade 45 to Grade 56 who serve in Public Higher Education Institutions (IPTA) based on the Exemption Directive under Section 27 of the Trade Union Act 1959 (Act 262) by the Chief Secretary Number 1 Year 2023.
Trade union membership for the officers concerned is subject to the following conditions:
- Not involved in formulating and influencing Government policy
- Not involved in formulating and influencing University policy
- Not being Head or Deputy Head of Department including Heads of Divisions in any Department / Faculty
- Not be involved in or perform a role in any confidential or security capacity.
The directive was issued by the Chief Secretary of State, Ybhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohd Zuki bin Ali on 8 March 2023.
