Bangi, 19 June 2025 – The 2025 Electronic Trade Union Information System (e-TUIS) Workshop was held successfully for two days, from 18 to 19 June 2025 at the Cyber Training Laboratory, Tun Seri Lanang Library, National University of Malaysia (UKM).
This workshop brought together trade union representatives from across Selangor and the Federal Territories with the objective of strengthening the comprehensive use of the e-TUIS system in the management and reporting of trade union affairs.
The opening ceremony was officiated by the Director General of the Malaysian Trades Union, Tuan Haji Mohd Asri bin Abdul Wahab. In his speech, Tuan Haji Mohd Asri stressed the government’s commitment in strengthening the service delivery system to the union through digitalization.
“I hope that all trade unions can fully adopt the e-TUIS system. This will not only facilitate administrative and application matters, but will also increase transparency and efficiency in union data management,” he said.
He also explained that applications under the Trade Union Affairs Program (PHEKS) will be assessed based on the level of use of the e-TUIS system by the union, in line with the digital transformation efforts that are currently underway.
This workshop also includes practical training sessions, technical briefings, and interactive forums that provide space for participants to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of the features and advantages of the e-TUIS system.
The organization of this workshop proves the seriousness of the Department of Trade Union Affairs in strengthening digital capabilities in trade union management for the mutual benefit of all workers in Malaysia.
