Kuala Lipis, Pahang | 29 June 2025 (Sunday)

‎The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program organized by the Department of Trade Union Affairs (JHEKS) Pahang in collaboration with local trade unions was held successfully in Kampung Tempoyang, Kuala Lipis over two days from 28 to 29 June 2025.

The program aimed to strengthen the relationship between trade unions, the community, and government agencies, while also fostering a spirit of volunteerism and raising public awareness about the importance of trade unions in the national employment ecosystem. It also reflected the core values of Well-being, Compassion, and Inclusivity under the Malaysia MADANI framework.

More than 1,000 participants, including union members from across Pahang, KESUMA agencies, and the local community, took part in the event. The first day featured a communal feast (kenduri rakyat) and spiritual activities such as congregational prayers and religious talks.

The highlight of the program was officiated by YB Dato’ Sri Abdul Rahman bin Hj. Mohamad, Deputy Minister of Human Resources. He also presented Bakul Rahmah aid to those in need and led the symbolic planting of a “Hijau Bumi” tree as part of a sustainability initiative. Various activities were held including an Exclusive Career Seminar for Form 5 students, SPM school leavers, and orphans (organized by NUTP with special appearance by Dato’ Captain Hj. Mohd Fauzi bin Hj. Aziz, President of Kelab Gang Sekolah), free health screenings, haircuts, RM1.00 motorcycle servicing, traditional games (sukaneka), Rahmah Sales, and community clean-up efforts. A KESUMA service counter was also set up to provide information to residents.

This program not only strengthened ties between unions and the community, but also demonstrated KESUMA’s commitment to engaging with the people and ensuring that trade unions remain relevant and resilient in national development.
