The 2025 Trade Union Affairs Programme (PHEKS) for the Central Zone was officially launched by YB Encik Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Human Resources at Wyndham Acamar, Klang today.
In his opening speech, YB Minister emphasized:
3K Goal
  • Focus on employee skills, well-being, and success.
Employer-Employee Relations
  • Minimum wage is not a single measure – unions can negotiate CA with employers.
  • Establish harmonious industrial relations.
MADANI Employee Card Initiative
  • 30% discount card for union members – encourage more people to join unions.
Global Issues
  • In APEC: Emphasised that workers’ rights cannot be compromised.
  • Don’t punish countries that are trying to protect workers’ rights.

RM10 MILLION TO STRENGTHEN LABOUR UNIONS!

PHEKS 2025 Key Highlights:
RM10 million allocated compared to RM5.8 million in 2024
551 applications approved, worth RM7.15 million
138 applications for Central Zone (Selangor & WP) – RM2.1 million
5 main clusters funded, including training, research and digitalization
MADANI Employee Card introduced – an exclusive privilege for union members!
Latest Statistics (2024):
– 762 registered unions
– 1,038,435 members
– 240 Collective Agreements (CA) benefit 67,644 workers
